Costs and Financial Help

We believe that financial challenges should never prevent a child from playing hockey. This page explains our program fees, payment options, and financial assistance programs.

Payment Plan and Flexibility

We understand that paying fees all at once may be difficult. We offer flexible payment options:

- Monthly Payment Plans: Spread costs over 8 equal installments

- Custom Arrangements: Contact us to discuss your specific situation

- Partial Season Registration: Join later in the season (where applicable)

No family should avoid CKHA hockey because of cost concerns. Speak with us confidentially about payment options that work for your family.

The Chris Faro Memorial Fund: Financial Assistance for Families in Need

What Is the Chris Faro Memorial Fund?

The Chris Faro Memorial Hockey Fund is CKHA's financial aid program dedicated to making hockey accessible to all children in our community. We believe that financial challenges should never prevent a young player from participating in the sport they love. For the full story please click here!

What's Included in Program Fees?

Your program fee typically covers:

✓ Ice time (practices and games)

✓ Coaching staff

✓ Equipment oversight

✓ Administrative costs

✓ Access to Crossbar (team management platform)

Does NOT typically include:

- Personal equipment (skates, sticks, helmet, etc.)

- Team uniform/apparel (can be ordered separately)

- Equipment rental (available separately—see Getting Started page)

Refunds and Cancellations

Every situation is different. We handle refund and cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis, taking into account your individual circumstances.

We recommend purchasing refund insurance when you register and pay your fees. Refund insurance covers most situations and provides peace of mind if unexpected circumstances arise.

Tips to Reduce Cost

1. Rent first: Many families rent equipment their first season—no regrets!

2. Buy used: Local hockey groups often have used equipment at lower prices

3. Combo deals: Some vendors offer package discounts

4. Growth room: Buy slightly larger equipment to account for growth (kids grow fast!)

5. End-of-season sales: Equipment goes on sale after hockey season ends

Our Commitment

CKHA is committed to making hockey accessible to all children in our community.

If cost is a barrier to participation, please reach out. There are options, and we want to work with you.
