If your daughter or son is selected for one of our travel teams or Varsity High School team the expectation is that your player will attend all practices, games (home and away), and tournaments.  There might be times when your player is not able to make a hockey event, but if your player will consistently miss events then perhaps one of our recreational teams or the Junior Varsity High School team is a better choice.

The Travel/Varsity Season begins with a few practices in September and then 2-3 practices per week in October through February.  There is a possible seeding tournament for 10U, 12U, and 14U teams in late September (usually in Cincinnati).  Each team will play in 2 or 3 tournaments (dates TBD, but MLK & Presidents Day weekends are strong possibilities).  Note that the Varsity team is scheduled to take an out of town trip sometime between December 27 through January 1 this year.  The year end tournaments for these teams are typically the last weekend in February or first weekend in March.  Travel teams and the Varsity team  typically play between 30-40 games per season.

The registration cost for Travel and High School hockey is estimated to be between $1400-$1600 per player.  This does not include travel cost, uniforms, or other ancillary fees.  When attending tournaments, some are “stay and play”.  This means your player/family will be requires to stay at a tournament-specified hotel.  

For the season, teams will be designated by the division they play in. Our travel teams will be designated as as "A" teams and recreational teams will be designated as "B" teams. 

Tryout Information

• $20 tryout fee - covers one or both sessions.
• Players MUST register for tryouts to be considered for the team, even if they are not able to attend.
• It is recommended that players attend both tryout dates for the team, but that is not required
• All tryouts will be at the Lexington Ice Center on Rink 1
• Players trying out for one of our two High School teams ( Varsity or Junior Varsity) must be in 9th grade as of August 2022.  8th grade players are no longer allowed to play high school hockey, as per USA Hockey regulations.
• In most cases, coaches will make player selections and contact all players in the week following tryouts. There may be some delays reaching out to everyone depending on player commitment and parent/coach availability.

• Sunday, June 12.     5:45-6:45

- Teams will be selected by a panel of coaches, including the Head Coach for that team, our Director of Hockey Operations, and other USA Hockey certified coaches. 

- In some cases you may not know some of the coaches involved in helping choose teams.

- Our goal is to have four to seven coaches involved n picking each team.

- Head coaches will be announced at a later date.
